General Local Plan of Vlora answers to the local and national ambitions for the transformation of the city and all its territories in one of the most requested in the map of Mediterranean tourism. The new proposed Airport will give the proper impulse to the tourism growth in the very near future. The city bypass road will achieve the transit traffic circulation towards the South beaches of Vlora and Himara distant from the city urban structure. The plan dedicates the existing coastal national road only for the access of the existing and future planned hospitality structures along the coast.
The plan redefines the urban mobility in the city, promoting public transportation and bike dedicated lines. The General Local Plan redefines, both inside the historic city and in the suburban and rural areas, new epicenters of urban, economic and social development of the city. A green corridor, where energy production will be encouraged through the application of renewable resources, will contribute to feed the city and its growth.
The Plan ambitions is to introduce Vlora in the next 10-15 years, as the trend city in the region for the international tourism industry.
